Excellent for age, the clock was completely overhauled in April 2020, so in fine working order. Comes with a period winding key.

Superbly proportioned German striking Mantel Clock from the Art Nouveau period by HAC (Hamburg America Clock Co.), of Württemberg.

The clocks Walnut case with a glazed hinged front door is abound with fabulous hand-carved garniture, including side fluted half-columns, toothing, beading and a fabulous pagoda apex with finials. There is also a brass presentation plaque on the front of the clock, presented to a Brother Golby in 1899, indicating the clocks age.

The silvered chapter ring with black Arabic numerals and mat brass centre, is embedded into a polished brass plate with hand-engraved lotus leaf decoration to each quadrant and finished with a pair of original black painted Louis XVI style hands, secured with a pinned collet.

The quality HAC 8-day pendulum driven movement has an authentic brass bob and is in good working order striking the hours and half-hours on its authentic gong and block exhibiting the famous HAC 'Crossed Arrows' trademark.
