Lovely double weight driven striking Vienna Wall Clock by Schlenker and Kienzle, one of Germanys high-quality regulator clock manufacturers of the late 19th/early 20th Century. The clock is in excellent overall condition and was serviced in 2020, (so in fine working order) and comes with an Antiquitatum guarantee.

The well-proportioned Mahogany, burr Walnut and glass case with hinged front door has wonderful age patination and superbly hand-crafted architecture. This includes a hand-carved upper-structure, with the spread-winged effigy of a German eagle at the clock apex and shaped finial embellishment with side half-columns.

The original clean white porcelain two-piece dial with a separate second’s dial is in great condition, with black Gothic styled Arabic numerals and a pair of original blued steel Louis XVI style hands, all surrounded by a moulded brass bezel.

The clocks quality Schlenker and Kienzle 8-day movement is driven by a double brass weight and pendulum mechanism, with the polished brass backplate stamped with both the makers “Fluegelrad” (Winged Wheel) logo, and serial number ‘29177’ which helps date the clock. It strikes the hours and half-hours on its coiled gong and comes with its original pendulum rod and brass bob, a porcelain aperture beat plaque and an authentic Vienna regulator brass winding crank key.

A very fine regulator clock, from a very fine clock maker!
