Superb quality Westminster chiming Bracket Clock, by James Stewart & Sons of County Armagh, Northern Ireland.

This imposing circa 2010 fully hand-crafted and finished clock is one of only 1,000 commissioned and manufactured by this world-renown UK clockmaking company, the clock being made by highly skilled crafts people, utilizing only the finest materials available in the modern world.

The beautifully well-proportioned and finished solid Mahogany case, is based on traditional British designs, combining elegance, quality and clockmaking heritage. The clock benefits from both a fitted piano hinged front glazed door and a sliding solid wood rear panelled door, and the clocks architecture also includes a domed Pagoda top and a shaped solid brass carrying handle.

The ornate premium quality silvered chapter ring is mounted on a polished brass plate with etched black Roman numerals, minute indicators and fleur-de-lis, tastefully finished with two centrally engraved spandrels and the “Stewart” signature. The dial is then surrounded by four raised brass spandrels and finished with a pair of blued steel Louis XVI style hands secured by a threaded collet.

The clocks stunning German imported 8-day Westminster chime spring driven movement by Franz Hermle and Son, (FHS), incorporates 5 x under-slung chiming hammers and is a magnificent piece of 21st Century timing mechanism design and precision. The lacquered and line-dotted finished backplate has the renowned FHS logo stamped into it with the modal serial number “340-020.” The chime/silent lever is also located under the chiming hammer rods. The clock chimes the quarters and hours on its chime-bar system.

When new, these bracket clocks retailed at £1,000 each, so this is a very rare opportunity to invest in a beautifully engineered family heirloom for future generations to come.
